The late Anita
Flockhart, the owner of Berrimah Riding School, founded Berrimah Riding Club
in 1969. She saw the need for a club which would encourage and support both
young and older riders in a spirit of co-operation and mutual gain, to assist
them in preparation for events.
The club was located on the grounds of
Berrimah Riding School, Knuckey Lagoons until 1998 when it relocated to
Robbie Robbins Reserve.
The Berrimah
Riding Club was a highly successful club, holding rallies, activity days and
gymkhanas until 2002, when a decline in membership meant it temporarily
closed its doors. In January 2003 Berrimah Riding Club was started up again
by a new enthusiastic committee, running a full program of rally days and
events throughout the year.
We endeavor to
maintain this spirit of unity and fun, being as much a social enjoyment as a
rewarding riding environment. Our facilities continue to improve thanks to
this feeling of unity and enthusiasm which makes it an enjoyment rather than
a chore to be involved in fundraising and working bees
we are all very proud of our club.
Berrimah Riding
Club is now affiliated with the Pony Club Association of the Northern
Territory (PCANT), and welcomes riders of all ages (including adult riders)
and experience.
